Fiona (Fi) Stewart

To live our lives to one's fullest potential.

With empathy, person-centred, strength based and holistic approaches coupled with being a certified practitioner in the Havening Technique® and Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), Fiona has a way of working with people that is gentle yet motivating. She has studied Psychology, Education and Forensic Mental Health through the Otago University and worked with children under 5 through to Adults in a range of different needs. She sees food and diet as a critical part in one's mental health and has studied Mental health and nutrition with Dr Julia Rucklidge at Canterbury University.

What to Expect @ FiStewartWellbeing.​
We can start with an Initial consultation for 30 minutes and see if I am the right person for your needs. Together we will identify areas you would like to develop that can range from problems through to shifting thought patterns to be naturally more positive and helpful for successful outcomes.

Her areas of specialty are;

  • Youth and Adult Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety, Weight issues, chronic pain, guilt and shame, phobias;

  • Youth and Adult goal setting, future planning and mentoring.

  • Challenging behavioural issues through to Criminal Behaviour in children and youth. 

  • Children overcoming trauma, fear and development of healthy internal dialogue.

  • Wellbeing with healthy lifestyle habits

Develop an understanding of the importance of. what we eat including how to grow you own.

A step mother 2 and mother of 2. I understand the challenges of a busy life with a blended family.

Includes reducing stress and anxieties pre/ during pregnancy and healing pregnancy trauma.

Healing

For those who suffer from trauma, PTSD/ C-PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Chronic Illness or Phobias. I will also work with current treatment or treatment plans from other professionals.

Addiction

Identification of the causes of ones Addiction wether it be Alcohol, Drugs, Fitness or Food.

Reaching Goals and Tools for healthy thinking/ beliefs. 

Changing thoughts and beliefs to be more positive and healthy. Learning to stop rumination and start finding a little joy in all we do. 

Fiona has been an outdoor guide, snow ski and board instructor and mentored young people in Youth Justice, leading outdoor trips in the high country, including doing multiple Southern Alps Traverse trips over 6 days. 

 

She is currently a Director and Co-founder of Cultivate Christchurch, 7 years operating an urban organic veggie farm and employing young people who are on the benefit and experience mental health issues. 

 

Most importantly, she is a Mum and step Mum of 3 boys and a girl. She was a step-parent at the age of 29 to two boys (7 and 8 years old) and still has a very strong, loving relationship with them both now in their 20s. Her own two children are 3 and 6 years old (February  2025), so she has parented throughout the childhood and teenage years, giving her at-home experience as well as in a professional realm.
